Tomorrow I am going to start a new series of images that will span a few days, but today we are welcomed to the premises by a very nice lion. Don’t be afraid, it doesn’t move much. This very nice bronze sculpture is a gift made to the City of Montréal by the City of Lyon.
Our color for today is a shade of deep blue (code #036C9C).
It looks like a tiny boat on a tiny river, but it is in fact a full-sized one shot from very far. As is certainly apparent from previous posts, I am fascinated by industrial constructions and water. Here I get an industrial construction on water! The blurred building is part of something we have seen before, a few times, but here we are a lot closer.
Since I live close to the river, I see a lot of boats going by. I take a lot of pictures but most of them are not particularly interesting.
Our color for today is a shade of grey with a tint of green (code #96ADA5).
It may not look like it, but, if you look carefully, you will see an elephant here; a big white elephant. It was built many years ago, at a great cost, for the 1976 Olympics and since then, it has been trying to go on with its life, but actually living miserably.

There is something in the light of the early morning that is wonderful. The difficult part is to get up early enough to take advantage of it.

Since we are in night shots, why not another one?
This is only a 14-second exposure. Long exposures are tricky: if don’t expose enough the image will turn out too dark; if you expose too much, it usually turns up a mess. It takes time and patience but often will produce nice images.

This is not what you usually see when you look outside. This is a 35-second exposure that lights up everything. Shooting long exposures at night gives a different perspective on things. Everything seems so quiet and beautiful.

This image started as a test to see exactly what a 20,000 ISO image would look like. I can hardly believe that it is now possible to shoot at such high ISO and get usable images. This was shot with the Canon 6D, which produces, in my opinion, amazing images.
After processing, I found that the overall look of the image was interesting. It was either raining or snowing that night, which may account for the strange/mysterious look of the image.
Sadly, since this image was taken, the small trees were cut. I don’t think they were bothering anyone. What a shame. It saddenes me to see how little people care for trees. Everywhere around me I see trees being cut for no reason whatsoever. People don’t seem to realize how important trees are to the life on this planet.

I am fascinated by this building maybe because it is the first thing I see when I look through my windows. You may have seen it already and you will certainly see it again.

After taking many pictures of this sphere, I think I finally did one that I like. I decided to go close and personal. Like they say: if at first you don’t succeed, try and try and try again! You may actually get somewhere.

I have always been fascinated by spheres maybe because a sphere is the closest you can get to a perfect object. It also happens that I live very close to this one, which, I think, is one biggest spheres around (no pun intended).
