Lots of birds trying to fly. This is a detail from a very complicated sculpture from Canada called “The Bird Tree“. There are in fact so many birds that it takes a while to understand what is going on. This may be a case of too much information.

Here we have a close-up of the phoenix. The myth of the phoenix, as most anyone knows, implies that, when the time comes, the phoenix will make its nest, set it on fire, and out of the ashes, a new phoenix will emerge. This will only work if you are a mythical creature.

This was one of the most intriguing and impressive sculptures from the exposition and also a difficult one to decode. It is from China (which provided two of the nicest and most impressive presentations) and features the Phoenix.
It seems that if you plant plane trees, they will attract a phoenix. Of course, all this is mythical since there is no such creature.

This is the “horned god” catching a very big snake. Although this sculpture is from Canada, it is apparently of Celtic origin.
